While we are in the mood for sharing stories, here's a potted version of mine...

I work from an office in my house, on our cattle and horse property in SE Queensland. I have clients who draw on my marketing, writing and stakeholder engagement services all over Australia. Getting to this point has been an incredible adventure.

A short action- packed holiday on a remote Territory cattle station was the start of a 30-year career in the Northern Territory.

I had left behind a journalism job in Sydney. In the Territory, I wrote about the extraordinary people I met and places I saw while living on VRD Station. Eight, amazing years later, I moved to Darwin and started my career in corporate communication and public relations.

I worked at Tourism NT for the next decade, managing public relations, media and marketing communication roles. I got to tell the world about the extraordinary experiences to be had in the Northern Territory. That passion will always be with me.

I spent another six years managing a strategic communication consultancy in Darwin. My client list featured local governments, NT Government agencies, peak body associations, tourism and agricultural companies, not-for-profits and Indigenous corporations.  I wrote communication strategies, marketing plans, media releases and added community consultation to my ‘I’m good at and like doing’ service menu.

A change in family circumstances paved a path to my new life, blending our horse and cattle work on our Queensland property with my professional life. Like all change, it was a good time to check in on what I wanted to do next.

I love researching and writing, which produces good grant and award submissions, so that was a tick. I have buckets of experience living in remote areas and working with Aboriginal communities, so yep, I can help organisations engage with ‘hard to reach’ stakeholders. I’m good at helping people, businesses and organisations identify, develop and share their own stories so they can reach their goals. That pretty much sums up why I do what I do.
